Boys and girls, who are rising sixth-graders, participated in the Junior Police Academy the week of July 6.
Cadets in Action
The 72 cadets were challenged to work as a team, develop discipline, build confidence, and gain a greater appreciation for the men and women who serve and protect our communities.
The cadets marched and practiced police cadence, participated in physical training and team-building relay races. They met members of Wyckoff Police Department, learned from the Bergen County HIT Team, experienced a bomb squad demonstration. They also received received CPR and First Aid instruction They toured the Bergen County Jail and Bergen County Bureau of Criminal Identification to learn more about the criminal justice system. Lead instructors for this year's Junior Police Academy were Sgt Kyle Ferreira, PO Bill Christopher, PO Kaitlyn Maglione, PO Michael Scalise.
