When it comes to inviting someone into your home to make a major change, trust matters. For Vic and Chris of Magnolia Home Remodeling Group, that trust has been at the heart of their business for 30 years. We sat down with them to learn more about their story, their philosophy, and what they enjoy most about helping homeowners bring their ideas to life.
Tell us about your business and what you provide to the community.
We're Magnolia Home Remodeling Group, and we handle interior and exterior remodeling for homeowners throughout Northern and Central New Jersey. We're a family-owned and operated company, and over the years we've built a full team of project managers, coordinators, and support staff. We've worked hard to create a team that cares about doing the job right and keeping homeowners informed throughout the entire process.
How long have you been in this industry, and what brought you into this line of work?
Chris and I have been in the industry since 1996, so we're celebrating 30 years now. It's been our entire career, and honestly, watching a home transform from start to finish never really gets old. Every project is different, and that's one of the things that keeps it interesting.
What's the philosophy behind your business?
It really comes down to one simple idea: we treat every client's home the way we'd treat our own. Someone is trusting us to come into their home and make it better, and we don't take that responsibility lightly. We're grateful for every opportunity we get, and we understand how important it is to do the job right and live up to the expectations we set.
What inspires you most in your work, and what do you enjoy about it?
Every project keeps us on our toes because no two homes or homeowners are exactly alike. Each one brings its own challenges, and there's a lot of planning, communication, and coordination that happens behind the scenes. We enjoy that part of the process just as much as seeing the finished product. And, of course, there's nothing better than seeing a homeowner's reaction when everything starts coming together.
Do you have a message you'd like to share with the community?
Don't take any project—or any homeowner's trust—for granted. We're grateful every single time someone considers Magnolia for their home, and we never lose sight of that.
Share a fun or interesting story about your business. How do you keep the workday enjoyable?
Honestly, it's the people. Our team keeps things positive and upbeat, our contractors genuinely enjoy what they do, and there's nothing quite like seeing a homeowner's face light up as a project starts coming together. Those moments make the long days worth it.
Tell us about yourself and your family.
Vic is a Rutgers graduate and lives in Sussex County with his wife and their three children. Chris attended York College of Pennsylvania and also lives in Sussex County with his wife and three children. Between running the business and family life, we stay busy, but we love what we do. We've also been very intentional about how we've grown Magnolia over the years, making sure that growth never comes at the expense of the quality and personal attention we want our clients to receive.
We're also proud to have partnered with organizations such as George the Rescue and Make-A-Wish. Giving back to the community is something that matters a lot to both of us.
Anything else you'd like our readers to know?
We work hard to make sure our services can fit a range of budgets, and we partner with lenders that offer home improvement financing, giving qualified homeowners some flexibility when it comes to payment options. Estimates and consultations are always free, and if getting together in person is difficult, we're happy to offer a virtual visit.
Most importantly, we're always happy to talk with homeowners about their ideas and what they're hoping to accomplish. Give us a call anytime, and thank you for considering Magnolia!
