<h2>A Junior Commissioner Takes Action</h2>
<p>Jackson Marder has served as a Junior Commissioner for the Wyckoff Environmental Commission since December 2024.</p>
<p>As part of his duties, he was tasked with creating a program that would have a positive environmental impact for the Wyckoff community.</p>
<h2>The Recycling Competition</h2>
<p>Jackson created a paper recycling program called The Greenest School In Wyckoff that encouraged the four elementary schools and Eisenhower Middle School to compete in an effort to recycle the most paper and reduce their waste. He received donations from local businesses to cover the costs of the program and was responsible for setting up and emptying the containers.</p>
<p>The Wyckoff Education Foundation (WEF) provided funds for the cost of prizes.</p>
<h2>Coolidge Elementary Wins</h2>
<p>Coolidge Elementary School recycled the largest amount of paper. Jackson spoke to students on the environmental impact of recycling and awarded the students and teachers re-usable water bottles imprinted "Coolidge is the Greenest School in Wyckoff" at end-of-the-year school meeting on June 22.</p>
<p>Jackson, an outdoor enthusiast, will begin his senior year at Ramapo High School in September.</p>
