Norway's World Cup Viking Craze
It was Viking fever this summer when fans, cheering on the Norway team in World Cup matches, performed the Viking Row and wore Viking horn helmets.
This fall, readers can cheer for the release of children’s author Robert Skead's book, the Wrath of the Sea Hag, a sequel to the Legend of the Narwhals.
"Fans of Erling Haaland, and the Norway men's National team, who both came to fame during this World Cup, may find the book of interest as it's like a Nordic folktale with a Viking prince as the main character,” said Skead.
Skead's Norse Roots and Inspiration
Skead may have Viking roots on his own family tree.
"My sister was doing research on our family name and discovered that the name Skead was originally Skarde. Many Vikings who carried this name were recorded in legends for their feats of great courage and heroic acts,” said Skead. “One of these men could be related to me!”
Skead added the reference to a character called the The Mighty Skarde in Legend of the Narwhals.The Mighty Skarde is a main character in Wrath of the Sea Hag.
