Wyckoff Centennial celebration continues on October 3 at the Zabriskie House at 421 Franklin Ave from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Event Activities and What to Expect
The day will include a blacksmith demonstration. Antique fire trucks and a classic car with be on display.. Visitors can learn about the history of Franklin Township, the Zabriskie family including their genealogy, the Zabriskie House and the Wyckoff Fire Department.
History of the Zabriskie House
Grace Zabriskie gifted the house, contents, and property to the Township of Wyckoff upon her death in 1973.
Grace was raised in the home by her grandparents Uriah and Keziah Quackenbush ,who purchased the property in 1867. Grace inherited the home.
The original part of the home was built circa 1730 by William Van Voohees. It is believed it was used as a village store and tavern at the time of the Revolutionary War. An addition was added in 1824.
